Américo Jacomino

1889 - 1928

Guitarist and composer, he left several recordings as soloist and camerista. He received the nickname "Canhoto" by playing with left hand without inverting the strings of the guitar. His works include Abismo de rosas, Olhos feiticeiros and Fantasia sobre o Guarani, the last in honor of Carlos Gomes. His method is still used today in teaching the instrument.
