Besides being a musician, he worked as a painter, architect and sculptor. In Itu, he founded the Convento do Patrocínio. In São Carlos village (now Campinas), on visits to Father Diogo Antonio Feijó, he became a friend of Manuel José Gomes (Carlos Gomes’ father), who made copies of his works and kept others in his personal archive. Most of his pieces are vocal works.
