Trumpet

​The trumpet is, like horn, an ancient metal instrument but still in use nawadays, and it is one of the orchestra's instruments. Its sound is the highest of metal family. 

A bit  history...

Ancient trumpets were built only in a single tube shape and in colonial period it was called clarim or trombeta in Portugal and Brazil. The modern trumpet has a little different shape. Among other modifications, its tube was lengthened and curved, and some pistons were added.

In 19th century, Jean-Baptiste-Debret portrayed trumpet's use in a carioca gentleman's procession of last rites.
