Francisco Braga

1868 - 1945

A student of the Imperial Music Conservatoire, Francisco Braga was a very active conductor - whether it is for orchestras or military bands. From 1902 he taught counterpoint, fugue and composition at the National Institute of Music. The notable pieces of his orchestral work include Prelúdio, Variações sobre um tema brasileiro and A Toada (for cello and orchestra). Birth: Brasil Rio de Janeiro RJ, 15/4/1868
