PhD on Music from USP (São Paulo University), his catalog is comprised of more than 200 works. He has thrice been named as the Best Composer of the year by A.P.C.A. (São Paulo Art Critics Association) in 1990, 1995 and 1998 for Cecília Meireles Cycle, Postais Paulistanos and Concert for vibrafone and orchestra, respectively.
