Francisco Avelino da Cruz

1848 - 1914

He was a musician with the Sergipe police force and conductor of the corporation's band for 25 years. As an instrumentalist, he dedicated himself to the flute and the trombone. Among his compositions are pieces and arrangements for band, among them many waltzes, arrangements for Italian operas and sacred music, many in the Filarmônica Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Itabaiana, SE).
