Cirlei started her musical studies with Nayl Lucas graduating later in piano from UFRJ School of Music. At UFRJ, in Rio de Janeiro, she studied composition with Henrique Morelenbaum, among others. Composer awarded at the 2nd Biennial of Contemporary Brazilian Music, the vocal works constitute a large part of her catalogue.
