In 1984 a small set of musical pieces from the mid-18th century was discovered in Mogi das Cruzes / SP. Eleven different works were identified. In the following years, researches coordinated by musicologists Régis Duprat, Jaelson Trindade and Paulo Castagna allowed to verify the relevance of the material found for the understanding of the ancient Brazilian musical practices.
