He started playing the accordion at age 6 in street markets in the interior of Pernambuco. His songs De volta pro meu aconchego, in a partnership with Nando Cordel  and recorded by Elba Ramalho and Isso aqui tá bom demais, with Chico Buarque and recorded by them both, where included in the TV Globo soap opera "Roque Santeiro", achieving great popularity.
