Born in interior of Bahia, Elomar knows the minstrels Zé Krau and Zé Serradô when he was only 7 years old. In his youth, he moves to Salvador to study architecture but goes back to his homeland in 1964. At this time, his musical creation intensifies and he begins to compose merging the local traditions and symphonic music.
