Eleazar de Carvalho

1912 - 1996

  Eleazar de Carvalho was one of the most important Brazilian conductors. He moved to Rio de Janeiro at young age, playing tuba in Banda do Batalhão Naval (a military band). Eleazar conducted the main orchestras af the world. He was professor at Yale University and artistic director of the Festival of Campos do Jordão. Birth: Brasil Iguatu CE, 28/6/1912
