Paulino Chaves

1883 - 1948

Composer, pianist, soloist and conductor. Graduated in Music at the Royal Conservatory of Leipzig, Germany. His work is based of German composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Brahms, with strong influences of Wagnerian modernism. His Quarteto de Cordas em Lá maior has classicism aspects plus a few moments of Vivaldi's style, and ends the 4th movement with a folkloric theme from Belém do Pará. Birth: Brasil Natal RN, 26/6/1883
